These pictures were taken May 3rd, 2009. Joe is just under a year old. It was an unusually hot day. He enjoyed playing and getting cooled off in his wadding pool. He also liked to chew on the sides of his pool. This ultimately led to the early demise of his wadding pool. It's December 27th, 2010 today and there is snow and cold weather outside. Joe and I both would enjoy some weather like we had on the day these photos were made.
It's December 26th 2010. The Christmas snow is till falling and 27 degrees. Joe doesn't mind and loves to play in the snow. If he gets cold he has an insulated dog house with a heated floor. 
Joe enjoys playing in the snow. He got what he wanted for Christmas, SNOW! It does not happen often in Winston-Salem, NC that we have snow for Christmas. In 1998 we had a trace of snow. 1969 we had 1.1 inches of snow. I think the next year was 1947. Christmas 2010 we are going to have 6+ inches of snow in Winston-Salem!
These pictures were taken some time ago. Joe like all Labs. loves to eat. It's hard to keep him satisfied. Carrots make a healthy and fun treat for Joe.
These pictures were taken in May of 2009. Joe is almost a year old. We are in a school parking lot getting ready to go for a run.
Joe doesn't seem to mind the snow or the cold. His dog house has a heated floor in case he wants to get warm. 12/13/10

Labrador Retrivers seem to love tennis balls. Joe developed this affection while still quite young.
It's below freezing outside! Joe is warm and happy inside the house wrapped up in a blanket and sleeping on his dog bed.
The first thing I did when picking Joe up for my first day taking care of him was to head straight to a friends house with a large pond suitable for swimming. Joe went in the water right away and ran around the bank of the pond until he was exhausted. Then he enjoyed a nap on the bank. August 2008.
